- Russia, feeling that she had let Serbia down in the Bosnian crisis of 1908, began to mobilize. ww2dbase [AC]
- The French Covering Force (that part of the army kept on a permanent war footing) was ordered to deploy along the Franco-German frontier, but 10 kilometers short of it to avoid any incidents. ww2dbase [AC]
