THE FLYING TANK 1942: RUSSIAN T-60
T-40 file photo above had road wheels and suspension that were similar to that of the T-60
However, hull and turret were of different design.
The flying tank was a wartime design, the T-60 was to be flown behind German lines to support partisans with armored vehicles. The T-60 was armed with 1 x 12.7mm machine gun this wasn't armament to duke it out with German armor.
Antonov designed a set of biplane wings and a twin-tail boom that were attached to the T-60 it had one test, but the weight and drag caused the tow plane's engines to over heat.
The glider was released and made a safe landing this idea fell through and was dropped due to a lack of an aircraft with enough power to tow the flying tank. Available heavy aircraft capable of towing the flying tank into combat, were better used in other roles.
