RAF Binbrook was the home to the Lancasters of 460 (RAAF) Squadron, one of the three Australian Lancaster squadrons based in Lincolnshire during the war. The other two, 463 and 467 Sqns being based at RAF Waddington. These Australian squadrons suffered particularly heavy losses. RAF Binbrook will be well known to readers as the location for the filming of the movie Memphis Belle.
