WAITING TO SORTIE:

F4U-1D's of VMF-322 are loaded w/2 x 154gal. drop tanks. could also carry rockets under each wing besides its wing mounted .50 caliber ammo
Check out the Corsair on the right, pilot has started its engine.

WHAT'S THE REAL STORY

Another photograph lists these Corsairs as FG-1D
assigned to Marine Air Wing VMF-114 aircraft is armed with 1 x drop tank, and 1 x napalm for ground support mission.
