Photo is heavily retouched for propaganda
many wartime photographs were retouched to mislead allied intelligence, even the cockpit is misleading, with oversize underwing markings.
This procedure is still done today, I have 1960s NATO identification photos and retouched drawings of Soviet and Warsaw Pact equipment.
